| Summary | 0000014: Elevator door - safety bar not working | ||||
| Description | The elevator doors have a push bar, when pressed, that will stop the closing and reverse direction to open again. It's a safety item to prevent squashing and damaging anything trapped between the two doors. All elevators everywhere have these. In our building as of today, 9 of the 14 door safety bars, do not work - the door keeps closing and crushing what, or who ever is in between them. | ||||
| Additional Information | First observed in one door in 2001, problem has grown to 9 as of today. The issue should be a service check item by the elevator maintenance company, but apparently overlooked. | ||||
